You’re a runner. Congratulations on that. It’s not an easy hobby. Runners have to willingly hurt themselves all in the name of exercise. You’d think the most important part of running is the act itself but you are sadly mistaken. Behind that pain-stricken face, all runners have a sly smile. Secretly, runners only run for one reason and one reason only. Fashion.

Alright, that’s not entirely true but there are some runners that care deeply about what shirt they’re wearing if their sunglasses are cool and of course, what color their shoes are. Today, you’ll see all sorts of neon, attention-grabbing shoes on the market. These are certainly trending but don’t forget our old friend the black shoe.

Black shoes have been with us since the beginning. They’re sharp, simple and safe. You really can’t go wrong with a black shoe and they work for both genders. We’re not examining both genders today though.

Today, we are taking an in-depth look at black women’s trainers. Some will be great while others are lackluster. You’ll never know until you read the list so prepare yourself for the time of your life.

1. Nike Women’s Flex Trainer 5 Shoe

nike black womens shoes
The first shoe on this list needs no introduction. Everyone knows Nike and everyone loves Nike. If you don’t love Nike, then you will by the end of this feature. It’s safe to say that most people like Nike for their style. They just look darn good. There’s no argument there.

With this particular women’s shoe, working out in style comes easy. The black synthetic, mesh material looks classy while simultaneously acting as a breathable function. On the underside, this Nike has soul. Rubber sole that it. Don’t worry, there will be plenty more puns like that throughout this article.

Anyway, the real secret of this show are the multi-directional flex grooves. These help to enhance flexibility specific to whatever training you’re doing. Be it rock climbing, deer hunting, pizza cooking or anything else, these flex grooves can stand up to it.

If one were to rate this shoe, one would give it 4/5 stars. Actually, that’s exactly what someone did rate it. 4/5 isn’t so bad. As mentioned before, we’ll see shoes better than this and shoes far worse than this. Hopefully, you haven’t’ made up your mind yet. There’s plenty more to go.

2. Nike Women’s Flex Trainer 6

Wait. What’s this? Didn’t’ we just look at a Nike Women’s Flex Trainer? The short answer is yes, we did. However, if you took some time to actually read this article closely, you’ll notice one major difference. This is A Nike Women’s Flex Trainer 6. Not 5. 6. Six is one more than five and five is one less than six. Understand now? Good.

So what’s the big difference between these shoes besides the name? After all, they do look relatively similar and they are both black. Even after some research, you’ll be hard-pressed to find any major differences.

Both shoes have the aforementioned, multidirectional flex grooves designed to enhance flexibility specific to your training. Furthermore, both have a phylon outsole combined with rubber pods that provide good traction. Yes, under the hood (or bonnet for those in the U.K) these shoes are quite similar. However this time, it’s not what’s inside that counts.

On the outside of this shoe, you’ll see a mesh material. No synthetic, mesh combo here. Just straight up mesh. This helps to optimize breathability to the highest level and also making your shoe lightweight. Running with heavy shoes is no fun. It’s tiring and lame. Speaking of lame, our next shoe borders the style of lame but is starting to make a comeback.

3. New Balance Women’s WX608V4 Training Shoe

If we’re comparing shoes to cars, let’s call Nike a Mercedes and New Balance a Honda. It’s true that New Balance shoes aren’t as sleek or sexy as their friends at Nike but that doesn’t mean they can’t make a good shoe. In fact, they make a very good shoe. People on Amazon even rated this higher than the previous two Nike’s.

If looks aren’t an issue for you, then consider this shoe. They definitely don’t look sexy but try to forget about that part. New Balance claims to dedicate themselves to helping athletes and average joe’s alike in achieving their goals.

They design their shoes to fit first and look good second. Furthermore, they put research and development into each shoe to ensure it’s up to their high standards.

You won’t find much going on the exterior. It’s just a fabric and synthetic blend with a normal rubber sole. If you want to get a little technical though, then turn your attention to the supportive internal shank. This baby features shock-absorbing technology that protects your precious knees and other body parts.

Other than that, this looks like a rather bulky shoe but tell that to the 2,000 plus customers that gave this shoe a great review. Nice rhyme there right? There’s plenty more where that came from so stay tuned.

The people over at ASICS don’t just make shoes. They make weapons. Foot weapons. Don’t worry, they won’t actually hurt you but they’ll hurt the confidence of anyone else you run against. Shoes alone don’t make you a better athlete but these ASICS will certainly help you. A lot.
